Annual EN 12101-2 FPC Audit Successfully Completed for Curvent Fire-X1620
In life safety engineering, compliance is not a milestone — it is a continuous responsibility. At Curvent International, this responsibility is taken seriously through ongoing verification, independent testing, and strict quality control.
We are proud to confirm that our Curvent Fire-X1620 EN 12101 smoke ventilators have successfully undergone the annual EN 12101 audit of the Factory Production Control (FPC), as required by EN 12101-2.
What Is the EN 12101-2 FPC Audit?
EN 12101-2 governs Natural Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilators (NSHEVs) used in buildings to protect life and property during a fire. While initial type testing confirms performance, the standard also requires annual independent audits of the manufacturer’s production processes.
The Factory Production Control (FPC) audit ensures that:
Manufacturing processes remain consistent
Materials and components are controlled and traceable
Quality checks are applied to every unit produced
Certified performance is maintained over time
This guarantees that smoke ventilators installed today perform exactly as those originally tested and certified.
Independent Verification by IFI Institute
The annual FPC audit for the Curvent Fire-X1620 was conducted by the IFI Institute, an internationally recognised independent testing body based in Germany.
As required by EN 12101-2, IFI independently evaluates:
Production methods and documentation
Quality management systems
Compliance with certified product specifications
Independent oversight ensures transparency, credibility, and full alignment with European life safety standards.
Why This Matters to Building Owners and Consultants
Successful completion of the annual FPC audit provides confidence across the entire project lifecycle:
Regulatory compliance with EN 12101-2
Consistent product performance
Reduced compliance risk during inspections and audits
Long-term reliability of installed systems
For fire engineers, consultants, insurers, and building owners, this translates into trust — not just in the product, but in the processes behind it.
A Commitment Beyond Certification
At Curvent, EN 12101-2 compliance is not treated as a once-off certification exercise. It is embedded into how we design, manufacture, and support our smoke ventilation systems.
Our annual FPC audits reinforce a simple principle:
Life safety systems must perform when it matters most — and that performance must be proven, year after year.
