Curvent International celebrates the completion of this smoke ventilation project at the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) Journey of Blood state-of-the-art facility.

The new facility, which is based at the SANBS’s headquarters in Mount Edgecombe, Durban, is the world’s first “journey of the blood” facility. The facility has interactive screens and glass ceilings that provide a full view of what happens in the facility from when the blood is donated, to testing and processing, before it is ready to be transfused to sick patients who need blood.

Smoke ventilation scope of work for the three smoke zones:

1. Six (6) Mechanical smoke extraction fans (7.5kW, 1250 diameter)

2. Fire-X Vertical electro-mechanical louvers to allow make-up air in for effective smoke extraction.
