Riverside Mall consists of 50 669 m² shops and entertainment.  The Mall opened its doors in 1998 and was still making use of an old Pneumatic Window and Smoke Ventilation System.

Curvent International Pty Ltd was approached by the client to assist with the conversion from pneumatics to an electromechanical system.

Curvent International (Pty) Ltd supplied and installed the equipment to convert the existing pneumatic system to a state of the art 230V Electromechanical System. This system will allow constant operation even during power failures or load shedding as it is connected with the Centres Backup Generator.  The windows and smoke ventilators are linked to the smoke detection system to open up the relevant area as required from the detection system should there be smoke in the particular area.  Although this system is almost 18 years old we have the ability to revamp or convert to newer technology
